Planning & Development Department

Planning & Development is responsible for local Comprehensive Planning and Community Development efforts.
P& D staff coordinates and:

~ administers ordinances and regulations,

~ coordinates projects and programs,

~ manages volunteers and appointees,

~ and works with the public and press.

Review Process

All development review items are received and routed by P&D. Development review includes: zoning review, plan review, code review, design review (HPO or CDO districts only) and sign review.

Board Management

P&D coordinates the various municipal boards and their respective work plans. Appointed boards include: Bicentennial Committee, Cemetery Stewardship Commission, Corridor Design Commission, Greenspace Conservation Commission, Downtown Development Authority, Historic Preservation Commission, and Planning Advisory Board.
