Springtime Garden & Crafts Celebration!
Madison Fest features solutions for living a considered and "greener" life. This daylong festival features: amazing plants for sale, handmade arts and crafts for buying and browsing, great live music, and a great day for the whole family.
The day’s activities include:
- A plant sale. Plant vendors will be on hand to help you select plants to stand up to southeastern heat and humidity for your flower, fruit, and vegetable gardens.
- Lectures by experts in their fields. We’ll host informal discussions with speakers on various gardening topics – at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Allan M. Armitage, Professor Emeritus of Horticulture at the University of Georgia will present a show and tell, "Let's Get Kids (and Grandkids) in The Garden; at 12:00, Mimi Maumus, the chef/owner of home.made catering in Athens, will present us with inventive ways to use pickles;at 12:30 p.m., Jeff Johnson, Madison resident and Master Composter, will discuss composting methods for the home garden in "Composting: Make your own Superdirt,"and; at 1:00 p.m., Stephanie Hudak , of Creative Containers, will offer a step-by-step guide to creating beautiful and successful containers for your garden.
- Locally grown products. Local farmers will be on hand to sell their wares - direct to you from the farm! Bring a cooler to carry home perishables like eggs, cheese, meats and dairy products.
- Crafts Sale. Handmade craft artists will be in Town Park demonstrating and selling the highest quality of handmade jewelry, furniture, clothing, home décor, and more.
One great festival - all wrapped up with tasty food, excellent live entertainment, fun stuff for kids, and first choice shopping! Really, what more could you ask for?
